By Farhan Daw: Tottenham Hotspur grabbed their fourth away of the season after brushing passed Aston Villa at Villa Park. Goals from Roberto Soldado and a currently very in form Andros Townsend ensured all three points were going back to North London. Spurs also welcomed back Aaron Lennon, who came on as a substitute and made his first appearance this season following injury.
Throughout the opening half an hour, the only real chance came from Aston Villa’s Gabby Agbonlahor and he swept his effort up and over the bar of Lloris goal. After a slow start, the game suddenly burst to life when Townsend ran down the right hand side and swung in a cross that was missed by both Holtby and Soldado and found its way into the net.
During the celebrations, an off field incident involving assistant referee David Bryan occurred where a Spurs fan had thrown a flare and it had hit Bryan on the back of the head. Players and officials rushed over to see if he was ok and able to continue . The two perpetrators have been arrested.
