Preview of this weekend’s top european league games

After the international friendly games that were playing over midweek, we are turning back to Europe league games this weekend. We will try to cover all major Europe leagues, which include English Premier League, Italy Serie A, Spain’s Liga BBVA, Germany’s  Bundesliga and the French Ligue 1. We will try to give you brief information about the upcoming games and maybe give you some hints on what matches you should watch.

Premier League:
Premier League is playing only six matches this weekend due to FA Cup matches. Most interesting game this weekend in Premier League will be definitely game at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea (1st) and Tottenham (5th). We can say that this is “last train” for Tottenham to get into the fight for the title.

Cardiff and Fulham are playing “last place derby game”. They are currently 19th (Cardiff) and 20th (Fulham) in Premier League.

Even with a win there are small chance that these two clubs will save themselves from relegation this season, but at least they will have the satisfaction of not being the last club in Premier league. Norwich (15th) and Stoke (13th) are also playing crucial match.

They are not far away from relegation zone (Norwich 4 point and Stoke 6 points) so winner of this match could get a nice wind in their sale with three points.

Seria A:
Seria A brings us two derby games, first on Sunday in the afternoon we got a game between Juventus (1st) and Fiorentina (4th) and then in the evening we’ve got Napoli (3rd) vs. Roma (2nd).  Except these two games we got another “mini derby”, game between Parma (7th) and Verona (6th). This is very interesting game because both of these teams are battling for 5th place that could lead to Europa League qualification next season.

Liga BBVA:
Fans of Liga BBVA will not have any big derby game this weekend. Leaders are having “easy” week with Real Madrid (1st) playing Levante (8th), Barcelona (2nd) is going to Valladolid (18th) and Atletico Madrid (3rd) is going to Vigo to face Celta (11th).

After we saw the destruction of Schalke 04 in Allianz Arena, can we say that game between Wolfsburg (5th) and Bayern Munich (1st) is the derby game of week 24.

Bayern is showing some outstanding plays and everything but the win will be a big surprise. But for games Mainz 05 (6th) vs. Hertha Berlin (8th) and Borussia M.Gladbach (7th) vs. Augsburg (9th), we can say that those are games to watch this weekend.

All of those four clubs are battling for place in the Europa League next season and there are only 2 points spread between “last” (Augsburg) and “first” (Mainz 05). Since we already said that we expect Bayern to win vs. Wolfsburg, club that wins in these games could easy jump to 5th place in Bundesliga.

Ligue 1:
Similar to Liga BBVA, in Ligue 1 we don’t have any big games this weekend. Both of the top three teams should not have problems in their games. PSG (1st) is going to Bastia (9th), Monaco (2nd) will face Sochaux (19th) and Lille (3rd) will play against Montpellier (11th).
