Triple H’s reaction to CM Punk snub

What’s new within the world of professional Wrestling? Word within the WWE is that Triple H is very upset at CM Punk’s actions. Just a little under two months ago CM Punk, real name Phillip Brooks walked out on the company stating that he was ‘never coming back.’

CM Punk’s sudden departure was reported to be due to a number of reasons including being badly beaten up from the rigorous schedule, being burnt out mentally and frustration with the lack of direction that his character had.

After a 434 day championship run which is the longest world title reign that any wrestler in the WWE has had in the past 26 years CM Punk continued to be a main event superstar within the company, however he was left out of the title race as the company opted to have him wrestle against part-timers such as Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

Reports from around July last year suggested that CM Punk would be booked to win the royal rumble which would mean a spot in the main event of WrestleMania and an injection back into the title scene but later on around November the plans had changed and it was decided that Punk would take on Triple H, something he wasn’t too happy to find out.

After walking on the company it was reported that Triple H had felt like Punk had disrespected the company and him personally. The opportunity to fight Triple H is not one that many wrestlers of this current generation will ever be granted so for somebody who has been given that opportunity to walk out of the company upon finding out about it is seen as disrespectful.

As it stands now Triple H is booked to take on Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania with the winner getting a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship however during the build up to the match Triple H hasn’t refrained from taking not so subtle digs at CM Punk whilst cutting promos at Daniel Bryan and the same goes for his wife Stephanie McMahon who have both mentioned quite a bit about Punk ‘taking his ball and going home.’

Within the company it’s regarded as a big deal to face Triple H in general by many wrestlers and higher-ups including Triple H himself, so it’s an even bigger deal when somebody gets the chance to face him at the show of shows.

Whilst this may not have been what Punk wanted, he has possibly missed out on a big opportunity and with the power that Triple H is rapidly gaining backstage every wrestling fan out there can guarantee that CM Punk won’t be anywhere near the product anytime soon.

The general feeling towards punk backstage is very negative with most of it coming from Triple H, so now that this is the case the only thing for both parties to do is to move forward in their respective directions.
