Vincenzo Nibali Pulls Away: Stage 13 Tour de France

Vincenzo Nibali has increased his lead on his rivals by winning Stage 13 of Le Tour de France atop the Chamrousse.

The Italian who rides for Team Astana, finished 10 seconds ahead of second place Rafal Majka, and 50 seconds ahead of his nearest rival Alejandro Valverde.

Valverde moves into second place but is still 3 minutes 37 seconds behind Nibali who is now almost certain to win the biggest bike race in the World.

As long as he stays upright on his bike for the rest of the Tour, he should roll into Paris with the yellow jersey on his back.

Richie Porte who leads British Team Sky after the withdrawal of Chris Froome fell away from the group on today’s stage and finished nine minutes behind stage winner Nibali.

Tomorrow’s stage keeps the riders in the Alps as they face two first category climb and a ‘Hors Categorie’ climb, the hardest climb of all. Vincenzo could win again if he can pull away of the second climb.
