Pascal Wehrlein’s Championship Victory
Pascal Wehrlein claimed his first Formula E World Championship as he defeated title rivals Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans in a thrilling final race. The German racer already had a successful weekend, winning race one at the London E-Prix and then claiming second place in race two to be crowned champion.
Mitch Evans’ Missed Opportunity
Mitch Evans narrowly missed out on the title after missing the attack mode twice, eventually leading to him standing on the final step of the podium. A weekend that got progressively worse for the New Zealand driver saw a DNF for Nick Cassidy after a collision with Antonio Felix da Costa. However, the strong combination of Cassidy and Evans as teammates and the pace of Jaguar Racing saw them win the Teams’ Championship.
Oliver Rowland’s Return and Victory
The chaos of the London E-Prix throughout the field saw the returning Oliver Rowland take the top step. The British driver previously missed the doubleheader at Portland due to medical reasons but returned with a home win.
Pascal Wehrlein: Early Race Dynamics

Teammate Mitch Evans took advantage of this to get ahead of Gunther at the start, making it a 1-2 for the Jaguar team in the early stages of the race. Meanwhile, the championship (Wehrlein) leader kept it clean and remained in fourth position.
Collision Involving Jake Dennis
Going into the second lap, last year’s World Drivers’ Champion Jake Dennis collided with Edoardo Mortara. The British driver unfortunately didn’t see the Mahindra driver and squeezed him into the barrier, breaking his steering rack. As a result, they both made contact again and hit the wall.
Pascal Wehrlein: Strategic Moves
Wehrlein, eager to catch up to his title rivals, made a huge lunge to the inside at the final corner to overtake Gunther. This resulted in all championship protagonists being in first, second, and third positions.

The dramatic action and Formula E chaos were on full display. On lap 29, Cassidy collided with Porsche driver da Costa and was forced to retire, as his title hopes faded.
Final Twist and Title Decider

Oliver Rowland inherited first place as they had to take the boost again. As on the second attempt, Evans frustratingly missed attack mode again, while Wehrlein’s teammate, da Costa, played the team game and let him through.
This costly mistake for the New Zealand driver allowed Pascal to jump him and eventually take the title.
