The UFC returned to Perth, with a thrilling fight night in store for Australian fans.

The RAC Arena has hosted some monumental moments in multiple PPV events, but this particular card showed promising up-and-coming fighters.

While the prelims did not have a lot to offer in terms of stoppages, the main card was undoubtedly worth the wait.

Here is everything that happened at UFC Perth in what was a bizarre morning for the Aussies.

Ulberg earns deserved title shot

The headliner brought nothing but attention to this fight night, with both men holding impressive win streaks.

Carlos Ulberg was sitting on eight consecutive victories with his last win coming against Jan Blachowicz earlier this year.

As for Dominick Reyes, he was turning his career around, coming back from a four-fight losing streak to a three-fight winning streak.

It seemed clear that the winner of this matchup would claim the title shot against the winner of the UFC 320 main event.

The battle only lasted one round, with the #3 Light Heavyweight contender looking more confident in the Octagon.

Reyes struggled to land any threatening punches as Ulberg was timing his shots while gradually applying pressure.

Eventually, ‘The Devastator’ took his chance, but it backfired as a counter two-punch combo from ‘Black Jag’ knocked the American down before a couple of follow-up shots ended the fight.

The New Zealand mixed martial artist will be keeping his eye out for his next battle between either Magomed Ankalaev or Alex Pereira.

Unusual submission victory

The co-main event featured a battle between an Australian fan favourite and an unrecognised Croatian fighter.

Jimmy Crute earned his first win since October 2020 at UFC 318, submitting Marcin Prachnio in the first round.

Ivan Erslan was in search of his first win in the organisation, currently standing on a two-fight losing streak.

A win was going to be beneficial for either man, as it would keep them in a strong spot in the UFC.

In the first minute, both men tested their striking, being very favourable for Erslan.

However, Crute eventually landed a takedown and began planning his submission attempts as the first round progressed.

Miraculously, the Singleton-born fighter submitted the Croatian with what looked like a camel-clutch-style choke from WWE.

Now with two consecutive wins, Crute is back in a promising position as he holds 10 first-round finishes in his career.

What else happened at UFC Perth?

Jack Jenkins returned to the win column after going the distance with Ramon Taveras to win by unanimous decision.

Remarkably, the Australian has always been successful when fighting in Perth, but unlucky every time he fights in Sydney.

Neil Magny pulled off a surprising comeback win over Jake Matthews, earning a third-round D’Arce Choke in enemy territory.

There was confusion at the end of the first round as everyone believed ‘The Haitian Sensation’ had submitted to Matthews’ Guillotine Choke.

Tom Nolan claimed his first submission win after defeating Charlie Campbell with a first-round Rear-Naked Choke.

Navajo Sterling maintained his perfect record after his third consecutive UFC bout ended by unanimous decision, this time against Rodolfo Bellato.

Cam Rowston shone on his UFC debut when he defeated Andre Petroski by first-round TKO.

Jamie Mullarkey found redemption once again in his home country, beating Rolando Bedoya by unanimous decision.

In a close battle, Colby Thicknesse did enough to earn a unanimous decision win over Josias Musasa.

Michelle Montague displayed dominance against Luana Carolina, winning comfortably by unanimous decision.
