England face an enormous task as they attempt to reclaim the Ashes despite being 2-0 down.

Meanwhile, England will be hoping vice-captain Harry Brook can curb his reckless shots, which have cost the Three Lions.

Additionally, Australia are set to recall captain Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon following their return from injury.

England Face Vital Adelaide Test in Bid to Reclaim Ashes Glory

Ahead of the 2025/26 Ashes, it was billed as the most thrilling and exciting, with England bringing over a hostile bowling attack. This featured the speed gun of Mark Wood, Josh Tongue, and Jofra Archer. Meanwhile, the question troubling fans was the age profile of Australia’s squad, with only one player below 30. Despite this, Australia thrashed England by 8 wickets over two days in Perth. However, England fans were hoping for a bounce back from the team. The second test was a similar affair with the Aussies claiming another comfortable 8-wicket win in Brisbane.

Despite all the hype and build-up to one of the most exciting Ashes series in a long time, England could now lose the chance to win the Ashes at the earliest opportunity. Fans and pundits alike have criticised the team for their shot selection and lacklustre bowling effort. Meanwhile, the Australian media have enjoyed tearing down and hounding the English players, with every interaction being filmed.

England captain Ben Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum will be hoping that the third test will kick-start an England fightback. In the 2023 Ashes, England fought back after losing the first two tests to draw the series. Additionally, fans are fearful of suffering another 4-0/5-0 whitewash at the hands of the Australians, as has been the case on the last four tours to the country. In another blow to England, Australia are set to recall captain and premier fast bowler Pat Cummins after he missed the first two tests through injury, as well as Nathan Lyon, who was dropped for the day-night test in Brisbane.

Harry Brook Addresses Media Ahead of Third Test

Harry Brook was seen as the key to England’s success in Australia alongside Joe Root and the pace attack. However, after passing a half-century in the first innings of the first test, Brook has since faltered.

This has led to the Yorkshire man being criticised for the game’s reckless nature. Speaking ahead of the third test, Harry Brook said, “They were shocking shots, I’ll admit that every day of the week, especially the one in Perth. It was nearly a bouncer, and I’ve tried to drive it; it was just bad batting.”

Harry Brook went on to say, “I’ll be the first person to say they were bad shots. I don’t regret them, but if I were there again, I’d try and play it slightly differently.” English fans will be hoping that their batsman can deliver and put the Aussies under pressure in a controlled manner, showing grit and determination.
