Jamal Musiala reveals he is pleased with Bayern Munich amid conversations about Manchester City looking to plot a move for the player shortly.

The Citizens view Musiala as a long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, and bringing him on board could further fortify their attack. With De Bruyne’s contract running until next summer, City is proactively devising a plan to replace him with a player who fits his role perfectly.

Musiala’s contract at Allianz Arena has two years left to run, and already, rumours are swirling that Musiala could head back to England.

The attacker admitted that he is very happy at Bayern but lamented that things can quickly change in football.

“I’m very happy at FC Bayern and fully focused on our goals. Playing abroad like [Jude] Bellingham? I’m not thinking about where I will be in five years. Things can always change quickly in world of football,” Musiala told Weltamsonntag.

Man City are believed to be huge admirer of Musiala

Jamaal played for Southampton and Chelsea during his youth career before returning to Germany with Bayern in 2019, progressing to the first team in 2020.

The 21-year-old has made 176 appearances, scoring 46 goals and grabbing 31 assists. He has also made over 35 appearances for Germany, scoring over six goals.

This season, the attacker has made 17 appearances for the Bavarians in several competitions, scoring three goals and grabbing one assist.

The 21-year-old is a dynamic attacker comfortable playing on either side of the flanks. His greatest strength is his control over the ball and ability to open up the opposition’s defence with his unique dribbling skills.

It will be interesting to see how this situation evolves, as a transfer to Manchester City could well be on the cards. However, the competition to acquire him could further intensify as more clubs would be interested in signing the player.

Bayern are unhappy about Musiala’s Ballon d’Or omission

Musiala was not on the shortlist for the prestigious Ballon d’Or award; this decision has irked Bayern, with their board member Max Eberl criticising it.

“I don’t begrudge any player who was nominated for the Ballon d’Or, but we at FC Bayern are very surprised that Jamal Musiala is missing from this list,” (via Bayern Strikes)

“Jamal was one of the most exceptional players at Euro 2024, was selected to the team of the tournament and was among the top scorers.

“Bayern also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League thanks to Jamal’s great performances. The fact that he is now not even among the 30 best players of the past season is completely incomprehensible to us.”
