Nick Kyrgios is set to return to Roland Garros for the first time since 2017, marking a long-awaited comeback at the French Open later this month. The Australian star will partner with compatriot Jordan Thompson in the Men’s Doubles draw.
Kyrgios Returns After Injury Setbacks
Kyrgios has endured a frustrating period plagued by injuries over the past two seasons. The 30-year-old has played just four singles matches so far in 2025, with his only win coming in Miami.

Speaking about his upcoming return to Paris, Kyrgios said:
“We’ve played at the French Open before, so it’ll be good to get out there and play with another fellow Aussie and have a bit of fun.”
Purcell’s Doping Ban
Kyrgios is stepping in after Max Purcell, Jordan Thompson’s regular doubles partner, received an 18-month ban for a doping violation. The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) sanctioned Purcell for using intravenous infusions that exceeded WADA’s permitted limits.
