The plot centres around a seasoned Formula 1 driver “Sonny Hayes” (Brad Pitt). A driver racing in the 90s walked away from the sport due to a horrible crash. Racing in other disciplines, Sonny receives a call from Javier Bardem’s character (Ruben), who is the team owner of APX GP in Formula 1. A team finishing 21st and 22nd on the grid cannot score a point. However, the team has a young ‘phenom’, “Joshua Pearce” (Damson Idris), who brings in “Sonny” as a last resort to help the team become competitive while at the same being mentored by “Hayes”.

As of now, the movie is still in production, and as far as we know, June 27th 2025, is the intended release date for audiences watching the United States, while international audiences can watch the film on June 25th. Filming has been taking place during the 2023 Formula 1 season. Therefore, allowing the filmmakers to focus on capturing the essence of the current F1 landscape and the timeline provides for extensive post-production work to perfect the visual and technical elements.
