Chelsea are set to face their latest toughest test as they prepare to host Barcelona at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, the Spanish champions are currently on a four-game unbeaten streak with their previous defeat coming at the hands of Real Madrid.

Both sides are level on points, with Barcelona sitting eleventh and Chelsea in twelfth, trailing on goal difference.

Chelsea Face Off Against Arch Rivals in Champions League Throwback

Many fans are excited for tomorrow’s clash, but this fixture carries plenty of history. From Fernando Torres rounding Victor Valdés to fire Chelsea into the 2012 Champions League final, to Andrés Iniesta’s unforgettable late strike in 2009 that sent Barcelona to Rome. It’s a matchup built on drama and iconic moments.

However, while history has influenced and shaped this fixture, both sides will be seeking to go deep in this year’s competition. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca will know his squad depth will help him rotate key players during the season. Despite this, key man Cole Palmer will miss this fixture following a toe injury, which has sidelined the Englishman for the next few weeks.

The Blues are on a five-game winning run in all competitions. Chelsea fans will be hoping to extend that with a crucial win over Barcelona. Additionally, to face off against Premier League leaders Arsenal on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. Maresca will be hoping his side can pass two crucial tests at home with ease.

Barcelona Travel to London With a Strong Squad

Meanwhile, Barcelona are taking a strong squad to face Chelsea for tomorrow’s crunch game. This includes Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and Englishman Marcus Rashford, who scored a brace last time out against Newcastle. The only downside to this is that manager Hansi Flick won’t have midfield duo Gavi and Pedri, who are missing through injury.

The reigning La Liga champions will be hoping to push into the top eight of the Champions League. This is crucial as Barcelona will be looking to avoid an extra two games. As well as this, Hansi Flick will hope his side can go further than last year’s semi-final exit to Inter Milan.
