Early Life and Career Beginnings
David Rocastle’s journey began in Lewisham, 1967, where he grew up in Brockley with his close friend Ian Wright. His talent was evident from an early age, and he quickly made his mark on the football world.
Rocastle made his debut for Arsenal at just 18 years old, and his first goal came shortly after in the FA Cup against Luton. Under George Graham he played his best football.

The 1986/87 season was pivotal for Rocky Rocastle, still a teenager, he scored the winner in a League Cup semi-final against Tottenham and lifted the trophy after defeating Liverpool.

Life After Arsenal
After his time with Arsenal, Rocky Rocastle continued his career with Leeds, Manchester City, Chelsea, Norwich, Hull, and Malaysian side Sabah before retiring in 2000. His legacy extended beyond the pitch, as he was known for his humility and time for everyone.

On March 31, 2001, David Rocastle die after a short battle with cancer. His memory is honoured by both fans and former teammates, who recall his maturity, charm, and politeness. The Rocastle family and Arsenal formed the Rocky 7 project to work with local youngsters, providing support and experiences aimed to inspire and aid personal development.
