In Sunday’s game, Jose Mourinho was sent out with hardly two minutes remaining, displaying his usual actions.

The Special One, Roma’s coach, received his first yellow card after a hysterical run from the bench to the sideline to confront referee Gianluca Aureliano over a call. After that, he was kicked out of the stadium because he was so angry at another decision.

Teun Koopmeiners headed a cross from Aleksey Miranchuk past Rui Patricio in the eighth minute, putting Roma 1-0 down. Just six minutes before halftime, the home team got back on level terms thanks to a foul on Rick Karsdorp by Matteo Ruggeri in the area.

Paulo Dybala stepped up to score the equalizer from the spot, with neither side able to find a winner.

Roma is now in eighth place in the league with 29 points, despite being winless in four of their previous five league games. They trail behind seventh-placed Lazio and sixth-placed Atalanta by one point each, while they are four points behind fourth-place Fiorentina.

Jose Mourinho could only accept his decision as he was forced to watch the final two minutes from afar. The scenario was a hit with football fans on social media, where they expressed their respect for Mourinho.

Roma faces Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Wednesday and Milan on Sunday, kicking off a massive week for the club that includes Mourinho’s suspension.

However, his suspension will only apply to the match against Milan because the Coppa Italia is a separate competition from the other matches.
