In an eagerly anticipated event that has long been awaited by fight fans around the world, Nate Diaz vs Jorge Masvidal, two former UFC rivals with a storied history between them, are set to step into the boxing ring once again on June 1st, PPV.

This much-anticipated rematch marks almost five years since their last epic showdown, promising fireworks, and excitement for viewers as they clash in this highly anticipated bout.

Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, two prominent figures in the world of mixed martial arts, are set to face each other once again, but this time in the boxing ring. This upcoming bout comes almost five years after their memorable encounter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

UFC History and Post-Career Moves

Masvidal emerged victorious against Diaz via doctor stoppage in November 2019, stirring clamour for a rematch in the UFC. However, their paths did not intersect before both fighters exited the UFC scene.

Masvidal retired following a defeat to Gilbert Burns in April 2023, while Diaz concluded his UFC contract with a submission win over Tony Ferguson in September 2022.

Transition to Boxing

Rumours of a rematch persisted, eventually culminating in a boxing ring showdown. Diaz, aged 38, ventured into boxing in August, experiencing defeat against YouTube personality Jake Paul.

Meanwhile, Masvidal, aged 39, returns to boxing after a hiatus since 2005, where he clinched a majority decision victory over Joseph Benjamin.

Rematch Details

The news of the rematch between Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal was disclosed by Ariel Helwani on March 13th.

The event is set to take place at the Kia Forum in California, featuring a 10-round light-heavyweight contest. Fanmio PPV, renowned for organizing Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition bout with Logan Paul in 2021, will present the event.

The contest is set for 10 rounds in the light-heavyweight division.
