Liverpool is now in control of the title race, having won 2-0 over reigning Champions Manchester City.

The Reds are nine points clear of second-place Arsenal and third-place Chelsea, who are both on 25 points.

And the way they played on Sunday, they will take some stopping.

“At the end the result is the most important, but the performance was great,” “If you want to win against a team like City you have to be good at every part of football. So high defending, low defending, build-up, high, low – everything. They bring so many challenges to you.”

And the way his Reds suffocated and dismantled City, who were already low in confidence, is bound to send shivers down the rest of the Premier League.

And even though The Gunners are starting to find some form, after the return of Martin Ødegaard, nine points may be a bridge too far.

Let’s also not forget that Chelsea are also in the mix as well, after their impressive 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.

So although it looks as if Liverpool are cruising towards the Title, one or two slip ups from them, and we could have an open race.

If we look at the next set of fixtures up until Christmas, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Manchester United, and Aston Villa are looming on the horizon for Guardiola’s side.

You would suspect that they would have to win all four of those games to stand a small chance of catching Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Slot’s Red’s have four tricky away games against Newcastle, Everton, Southampton, and Tottenham Hotspur, with Fulham and Leicester City visiting Anfield.

If they come through those games unbeaten and/or with four or five wins, they are going to take some stopping.

Arsenal on the other hand need to win their next few games against Manchester United, Fulham, Everton, and Crystal Palace, to stand any hope of competing for the title.

What is your verdict on the title race?

If they keep this up, they’ll definitely be serious contenders for the title. Exciting times for Liverpool fans—great article!
