John Alegeh

JOHN ALEGEH studied HISTORY, at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. In 1990, he won the RADIO DUETSHEWELLE QUIZ PRIZE for Africa. He has written four books and contributed to two others. His first book, a fictional story titled BERTHING ON A THRESHOLD (2004), highlights the positive indigenous responses to colonialism. In July 2007, he provided the historical perspective to the work; ‘I REST MY CASE’, A BIOGRAPHY OF HONORABLE JUSTICE UMAR ATU KALGO JSC (Rtd). His second work, AN ANALYTICAL STUDY OF NIGERIA’S FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT: 1959-2009, highlights the dynamics of Nigeria’s football development using the Vent for Surplus Theory as a basis of his submission. His third book, FACTS ABOUT NIGERIA: A SOCIAL STUDY OF OUR LAND, PEOPLE, ACHIEVEMENTS & MILESTONES (2012), is an informative guide that highlights various individual and corporate achievements of Nigeria and her people. In 2020, he was commissioned to do a dissertation about the foundational background of the ASSOCIATION of PROFESSIONAL WOMEN BUILDERS in Nigeria. In the quest for contributing to our nation-building, through youth empowerment and sensitization, he founded the VASPORTAL SPORTS CONTEST (2016) and the FACTS ABOUT NIGERIA INTELLECTUAL SERIES. In 2022, he co-authored the work: THE MAKING OF A CHAMPION: A SPORTS BIOGRAPHY OF WELLINGTON JIGHERE, NIGERIAN, AFRICAN & WORLD SCRABBLE CHAMPION. This work discusses the grass to grace story of our subject matter, who remains one of the most decorated SCRABBLE players in the World. JOHN is married and blessed with children.
