Less than 48 hours after the 2-2 draw at home to AFC Bournemouth, Enzo Maresca has left Chelsea Football Club.
My, my, my, have the standards fallen at Stamford Bridge.
After securing Champions League football and winning the Club World Cup, Chelsea fans were confident that this could be a revival of the good old days.
However, just as the team were gathering momentum after two positive performances against Barcelona and Arsenal, just one win in six Premier League games is not good enough for a club like Chelsea.
Poor Recruitment

Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, and Alejandro Garnacho are good players, but they are nowhere near the standard of a Chelsea player.
For those who don’t know what those standards are, they require form, consistency, and most importantly, leadership.
Do you see any leaders in this team?
You could say that Reece James, Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer, and Enzo Fernandez are on the path to that, but they’re not John Terry, they’re not Frank Lampard, they’re not Thiago Silva, etc.
With a recruitment strategy of only buying players under the age of 25, it won’t buy you into good standing for the future.
To build a top team, you need a blend of youth and experience, which the owners and directors seem uninterested in.
Well, if that’s the case, the only way Chelsea can rediscover what they once were is to either get rid of Paul Winstanley and Lawrence Stewart and replace them with one competent Sporting director.
Or the other option: BlueCo selling the club, which looks pretty unlikely at the moment.
How Does Rosenior Save Chelsea?

Rosenior, who replaced Patrick Viera as Head Coach, also took charge of Brighton & Hove Albion U-23s, Derby County and Hull City, where he spent the majority of his playing career.
Strasbourg are currently seventh in Ligue 1 and has lost three of its last four games.
Is that really something you want from your new manager?

The fact that he is an ex-Brighton manager kind of makes sense, given that Paul Winstanley has worked as their head of scouting.
But the number of mistakes that he and Lawrence Stewart have made, particularly in the scouting department, how can you expect De Zerbi to succeed?
Coming back to Rosenior, the guy is three and a half years into his managerial career. How can you expect him even to get a result against Pep Guardiola on Sunday?
At least De Zerbi has experience in managing in the Premier League with Brighton.
What happens in the future is a different matter to discuss, but one sure thing is that the standards have fallen drastically at Chelsea Football Club.
