Napoli are in advanced talks with Manchester United over a move for Rasmus Hojlund.
The Danish international hasn’t been able to make a significant impact for the Reds following a move from Atalanta in the summer of 2023. In over 62 appearances in the Premier League, Hojlund has been able to find the back of the net 14 times.
The 22 year-old has found himself out of favour and his situation could show no sign of improvement following the summer arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko from Wolverhampton Wanderers and RB Leipzig respectively.
The Red Devils are looking to offload a few players as they are aiming to be on the positive side of the Financial Rules following their massive spending spree during this summer transfer window.
Despite Hojlund’s wanting to fight for a place in the starting eleven, the club is looking to offload the player and they are already in talks with Napoli.
Napoli going all in for Hojlund?
Napoli are eager to land the Manchester United star as they are looking to fill the temporary void left by Romelu Lukaku.
Romelu Lukaku’s thigh injury has cast serious doubts over his availability for the club, and with him being sidelined for 4-5 months, there is a need to bring in a striker who can fill in his boots.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the talks over signing the Danish international are progressing well.
The update claims that Napoli have held ‘positive’ discussions with the player’s camp about personal terms and their long-term project.
Manchester United are now looking to finalise the deal with Napoli once Hojlund gives the green light to join Antonio Conte’s side.
AC Milan had also expressed interest in signing the player however their position changed as they recruited Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen.
It will be interesting to see where Rasmus Hojlund ends up as he could move to a club where he would get plenty of playing time or he could decide to stay back and fight for a place in the starting eleven among the new recruits.
