Allsvenskan 2024
The new season of Sweden’s elite football championship, Allsvenskan, starts at the end of March this year and ends in the first half of November. 16 clubs take part in the competition, which will hold 30 rounds, playing each other once at home and away. The championship title will be won by the team that manages to score the most points.
According to bookmakers, the top three contenders for the Allsvenskan gold medals include the following clubs: Malmö, Häcken and Elfsborg. If you study the form in which these teams will approach the new season, you can predict in advance the future winner of the tournament. If you want to make money on Swedish football, then we recommend betting on it at motsbet.az 90 bookmaker.
Malmö
Henrik Rydström’s team are the current Allsvenskan champions. In the last edition of these competitions, Malmö managed to win gold medals, ahead of the second Elfsborg only in additional indicators. Having won 20 victories, the inhabitants of Eleda drew four times and suffered six defeats.
At the same time, in their home arena, the “sky blues” lost only once to Mjällby in the 14th round. It should also be noted that Anders Paulsson’s brainchild had one of the strongest attacks in the league, which averaged just over two goals per match.
The Blues have won the championship title 23 times in the team’s history. The new season, after a difficult trophy win, could be extremely difficult for Malmö. However, the team has retained its core and may well perform more confidently in 2024. So it’s not for nothing that the main favorite for gold is Pontus Jansson and company.
Häcken
Paul Arne Johansen’s team won bronze medals last season, but the club at that time was headed by Per-Mathias Hogmo. Seven points behind second place Elfsborg and first place Malmö, Häcken is just as far ahead of fourth place Djurgården. Having lost in nine matches and drawn three times, the “yellow-blacks” won 18 victories.
It is also worth noting that the Wasps had the strongest attack in the league, but the defense of the Gothenburg representatives was the weakest in the top five.
Wasps looked extremely unstable in the last Allsvenskan and lost in almost a third of their matches. In January and early February, the inhabitants of the Bravid Arena played three friendly matches and lost to Midtjylland, Tromso and Haugesund with the same score of 2:4.
The brainchild of Anders Billström can improve and regularly score points, trying to take aim at the championship, but for this Häcken needs to improve his defensive game. If the “yellow-blacks” succeed, their chances of winning gold will increase significantly.
Elfsborg
In the last championship, Yimmi Telin’s boys missed out on the championship title in the final round of the tournament. Three points ahead of Malmö, Elfsborg lost minimally to the “sky blues” on the road after Isaac Kise Telin’s accurate strike from the penalty spot in the 57th minute of the match.
As a result, the “elegant” ones were inferior to the inhabitants of “Eleda” in terms of additional indicators. Having lost six times and drawn matches four times, the “yellows” won 20 victories. It is also worth noting that the representatives of the city of Borås had the strongest defense in the league, conceding 26 goals.
Elfsborg has a lot of foreign players of a good level. It’s difficult to single out just one, but the “elegant” ones are famous for their team play.
If it weren’t for the misfires in the final two rounds of the last championship, Sune Lundqvist’s brainchild would have won the seventh championship title in the club’s history. The Yellows played four matches in January and February.
In a friendly match with Odense, Yimmi Telin’s boys recorded a clean sheet in the world, and in the Atlantic Cup they were defeated by Fredrikstad, Copenhagen and Silkeborg.
Our forecast
Based on the results of the off-season, Häcken and Elfsborg should not be seriously considered as contenders for the championship title. The “yellow-blacks” and “elegant” will try to surprise, but they are unlikely to be able to create problems for those who drew conclusions after the last Allsvenskan draw.
So, most likely, the next “gold” of the strongest football division in Sweden will again go to Malmö.
