Boult Takes 3 Wickets As Kiwis Crush India

Three wickets for Trent Boult helped New Zealand to defeat India in Sunday’s ICC T20 World Cup action. In the other game, Mohammad Shahzad’s 45 would help Afghanistan defeat Namibia in the day’s opening game.

Afghanistan vs Namibia

Afghanistan would win the toss and elect to bat first.

Hazratullah Zazai would be caught by Michael van Lingen off the bowling of JJ Smit for 33 before Rahmanullah Gurbaz would be LBW to Jan Loftie-Eaton for 4. Mohammad Shahzad (pictured below) would be caught by Bernard Scholtz off the bowling of Ruben Trumpelmann for 45 off 33 balls before Najibullah Zadran would be LBW to Loftie-Eaton for 7.

Asghar Afghan would be the final wicket to fall, caught by van Lingen off the bowling of Trumpelmann, for 31 with Mohammad Nabi (32 off 17 balls) and Gulbadin Naib (1) the not out batsmen.

Craig Williams would be caught by sub fielder Usman Ghani off the bowling of Naveen-ul-Haq for 1 before van Lingen would be caught by Hamid Hassan (pictured below) off the same bowler for 11. Loftie-Eaton would be bowled by Naib for 14 before Zane Green would be bowled by Rashid Khan for 1.

Gerhard Erasmus would be bowled by Hassan for 12 before Smit would be caught behind by Shahzad off the same bowler without scoring. Jan Frylinck would be caught by Nabi off the bowling of Naveen for 6 before Pikky Ya France would be caught & bowled by Naib for 3. David Wiese would be the final wicket to fall, bowled by Hassan, for 26 with Trumpelmann and Scholtz finishing 12 and 6 not out respectively.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to field first.

Ishan Kishan would be caught by Daryl Mitchell off the bowling of Trent Boult (pictured below) for 4 before KL Rahul would be caught by the same fielder off the bowling of Tim Southee for 18. Rohit Sharma would be caught by Martin Guptill off the bowling of Ish Sodhi for 14 before Virat Kohli would be caught by Boult off the same bowler for 9.

Rishabh Pant would be bowled by Adam Milne for 12 before Hardik Pandya would be caught by Guptill off the bowling of Boult for 23. Shardul Thakur would be the last man out to the same combination without scoring with Ravindra Jadeja finishing 26 not out off 19 balls.

Guptill would be caught by Thakur off the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah for 20 with Mitchell (pictured below) the other wicket to fall, caught by Rahul off the same bowler, for 49 off 35 balls as Kane Williamson (33) and Devon Conway (2) saw the Kiwis home with 33 balls to spare.
