3-0 equals three uninspiring performances from Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United, which has made many of their fans ponder the club’s direction.

As the League table stands, the Red Devils now lie in 12th place, with just two wins in six games.

But yesterday’s performance against Tottenham Hotspur was dull, lazy, and naive; you can think of many words to describe that from the Red Devils.

You could even make the small case that Andre Onana is the best player on the pitch because it could have six of seven.

The worst thing is how the team is set up. As the opposition, you feel you can get a result that is in your favour.

The midfield was so open that you could drive a bus through it, and there was no cohesion between the players at all.

What was more alarming was that Spurs had created an XG of 4.67, the most a team has conceded in the Premier League.

However, the United Boss believes he has the backing from INEOS to turn things around.

“We are all on one page together, the ownership, the leadership group, the staff and the players’ group as well. I don’t have that concern,”

Meanwhile, Sir Jim Ratcliffe (Manchester United Co-Owner) has reinstated the club’s ambition and backed the United Boss.

“In the last 11 years, Manchester United have had a lot of coaches and nobody has been very successful in that environment,” “That says to me there is something wrong with the environment. It is not constructive for me to blame anyone, it’s just a fact. My focus is on how I change that environment to get the best out of the coach and squad.”

But given this was said in February, surely it’s time to take action?

The owners may want to keep Ten Hag, but some players in the dressing room, such as Bruno Fernandes, need to examine themselves and question their own performances.

Four players have just one goal in six games, which shows their inability to be ruthless and take games by the scruff of the neck.

The most baffling thing is that Marcus Rashford looks far from the player we saw two seasons ago.

Last season, United’s talisman scored just seven goals in 33 appearances.

The season before, he got 17 in 35.

You look at him this season. His decision-making in the final third has been so poor, yet he doesn’t do anything about it.

You are a home-grown player. Show a bit more passion. You should be setting higher standards for yourself as a Manchester United player.

If you don’t want to do this, why are you here?

We may be early into the season, but one thing is for sure: things are not looking good for Ten Hag and Manchester United.

Can he dig them out of this hole?
