Shanghai fans were not disappointed with the action-packed event they were promised.

Knockouts were the main theme around this fight night, plus a rare submission, which has only happened five times in UFC history.

The majority of Chinese fighters were successful in their own country, although two failed to triumph.

With some predictable and unexpected moments, here is what occurred at the Shanghai Indoor Arena.

A Brazilian finally wins a Main Event in 2025

A fight which was guaranteed to end in a stoppage was the headliner between Johnny Walker and Zhang Mingyang.

Both were recognised for their knockouts and striking, as they rarely enter the second round.

The Brazilian was searching for redemption after a winless streak of three, including two consecutive KO losses.

‘The Mountain Tiger’ was undefeated in the UFC with three victories, all ending by KO/TKO in the first round.

Walker began the battle with an unsuccessful takedown, eventually leading both men to get back on their feet.

Mingyang landed a nasty elbow in the first round, which slightly stunned the Dublin resident.

But, in round two, that’s when the most impactful moment happened as the Brazilian landed several leg kicks, knocking the Chinese fighter down.

After a long ground and pound, and plenty of warnings from the referee, the bout was stopped, and Walker ended the event victoriously.

The #13 Light Heavyweight contender maintained his position in the rankings and will be raring to go again.

Sterling returns to win column with dominant performance

Originally, Aljamain Sterling and Brian Ortega were meant to fight in a Featherweight bout.

However, due to weight issues from ‘T-City’, the bout was changed to a Catchweight of 153 pounds.

It was a battle of redemption between the two fighters as Ortega suffered a decision loss to Diego Lopes in his last fight.

While Sterling was hoping to come back from his first 145-pound loss at UFC 310 against Movsar Evloev.

Despite both men favouring their fighting style on the ground, most of the contest was on the feet.

Sterling blazed his way through the fight with quick strikes, easily landing more shots than Ortega in every round.

‘Funk Master’ managed to land three takedowns in the fight, and with him being a wrestler, that didn’t seem to be his most threatening offence.
