Per reports from multiple highly respected journalists, Antonio Nusa is close to joining Ange Postecoglu’s Tottenham Hotspur, then being loaned back to Club Brugge for the remainder of the season.
Ange Postecoglou has had a booming start over in the new White Hart Lane and has been backed for his immense change in the club with an impressive January window so far, with the Lilywhites bringing Radu Dragusin from Genoa and Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig.
These two signings were essential to bolster the squad depth that Spurs have so desperately needed for many seasons, however, Antonio Nusa would add a lot more than just squad depth.
Antonio Nusa has a unique player profile, one which would fit Postecoglou’s system nearly perfectly. Ange also plays a unique, attacking style of football, however, they have been missing one key part, a 1v1 specialist on one of the flanks.

Nusa has been touted to be one of the most promising talents in Europe, with him commonly being referred to as the “Norwegian Neymar“.
Nusa’s dribbling is the main key reason why I believe he would be a perfect fit for Postecoglou’s system, with his progressive carries and successful take-ons to be in the 99th percentile across all wingers and attacking midfielders in Europe (Per FBref), showing his prowess on taking on his man and causing danger down his wing.

Nusa’s passing ability is also not to be overlooked, with him averaging just over 35 passes a game, with close to 76% pass accuracy, which despite not being groundbreaking, is very solid and would further help Spurs be more lethal and clinical in the final third.
As well as this, much like many of Tottenham’s current attacking options, Nusa is very happy playing down either side of the pitch, or even through the middle if needs be, which would also be a great attribute to allow him to provide depth to multiple positions, if he is not starting.
Despite him still being young and not yet having any experience in a top 5 league, I believe with the right coaching, and in Big Ange’s system. He can be the missing piece to the puzzle and become a world-class player, with Tottenham’s current strongest XI and Nusa added in.
They could be a real force to be reckoned with and would struggle not to fight for silverware, which they so desperately need after such a long trophy drought.
