Tottenham 1-0 Burnley: Pedro Porro's first goal of the season sees Spurs advance to FA Cup 4th Round. Porro's stunning 20-yard top corner

A 78th Minute Pedro Porro wonder-strike was enough for Tottenham to advance to the 4th Round of the FA Cup at the expense of Burnley in a 1-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In a game of few chances, Pedro Porro latched onto a poor throw-out from Burnley’s Arijanet Muric before unleashing an unstoppable strike from 20 yards into the top right-hand corner.

It was the Spaniard’s first goal of the season and was the only highlight of an otherwise tight cup tie.

Burnley rarely threatened yet it was in the dying seconds, that the Clarets should have secured a replay when Muric won a header from a corner which Zeki Amdouni sent over the bar.

It was a frustrating night for the Burnley striker after he had missed a big chance in the first half that was ruled offside but replays suggested that VAR would have awarded the goal had he scored.

It summed up the fortunes of Burnley overall as they were able to create 10 chances during the match however, they only produced 1 shot on target which came after 7 minutes when a Wilson Odobert shot from outside the area was saved by Guglielmo Vicario.

Spurs had the best of their opportunities in the second half with Dejan Kulusevski having a couple of chances from just outside the area, early into the 2nd period.

Brendan Johnson then produced a brilliant save from Muric with 25 minutes to go as Spurs began to be frustrated by the league’s 2nd bottom side.

But all that was forgotten when Muric’s throw-out from a Richarlison mis-hit came out to Porro and mere moments later, the ball was in the back of the Burnley net which ultimately sent Spurs through.

Elsewhere on Friday Night, Fulham beat Rotherham 1-0 at Craven Cottage and 10-man Wolves earned a replay by securing a 1-1 draw at Brentford.
