Pedro has confirmed that he is to leave Chelsea after being with the club for 5 years. He made a farewell post on his Instagram.
“Thank you Blues”, says Pedro
The Spaniard, Pedro joined Chelsea from Barcelona back in 2015. When his contract expired at the end of June, he wanted a new challenge in his career.
Pedro has bid farewell to the English side, in a heartfelt post on his Instagram. Pedro last featured for Chelsea when they faced Arsenal at Wembley in the FA Cup final. He suffered a dislocated shoulder that ended the night for him. The attacker had gone for surgery and missed the Round of 16 Champions League match against Bayern Munich.
Chelsea lost 4-1 to Bayern and following that, he announced on Instagram he would be leaving the club.
Pedro was part of Chelsea squad when they secured the Premier League title in the 2016-17 season, also won the FA Cup and the Europa League with the London club in 2017-18 and 2018-19 respectively.
In total, the 33-year-old racked up 206 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 43 goals and registering 28 assists.
Pedro believes it was his right decision to move to Chelsea and never regrets his decision he made.
He wrote, “After five wonderful years my stage at Chelsea comes to an end,”
“Thanks a lot to the club’s board, to the coaches and team-mates I’ve had, and of course to the fans: thank you for the experience of being a member of your big family. I’ve been very happy here, you’ve made me feel like home.”
He added,“It’s been a pleasure and an honour to play for this club and win the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League titles, as well as competing in one of the world’s best football leagues.
“I made the right choice, I take with me wonderful and unforgettable memories.”
Pedro could now be moving to Italian Giants, Roma as rumours have begun.
