Honours were shared as rain would heavily affect the progress of play on Day 1 of the Sydney test.
Australia made 1 change to their line-up from last week’s test in Melbourne with Usman Khawaja coming into the middle order as Travis Head has tested positive for Covid.
England also made one change with Stuart Broad coming in for Ollie Robinson, the latter having played all 3 games so far.
