After a solid finish to seal the final spot in the top 4 race last season, Antonio Conte’s ambitious personality means Tottenham Hotspurs will be contending for silverware this season. The side based in North London successfully resolved internal issues without any significant departures, indicating ambition. And with substantial additions like Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Clement Lenglet, including the permanent signings of players such as Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski, Conte and his team are on the trajectory of breaking their trophy drought.

The influence of Fabio Paratici as the Director of Football cannot be ignored as the positivity has flown into the rest of the team when Antonio Conte was appointed; the coach that led Chelsea to their last Premier League title and was the first coach in the English top-flight to lead a side 30 wins in a season. After taking over when Nuno Espirito Santo was relieved of his duties in November 2021, an appointment of this sort indicated ambition as Conte is known to be a serial winner.

Antonio Conte is slowly making a mark on the squad, and the top 4 qualification is not the only encouraging sign. Tottenham Hotspurs are currently the top scorers of the Premier this calendar year with 51 goals, one more than champions Manchester City. The new look of Tottenham encompasses Antonio Conte’s philosophy- hard work, aggressiveness, passion, intensity and ruthlessness. The unmatched ambition of the North London side indicates a hunt for silverware in all competitions they compete in this season. The Italian manager is demanding, as all players were drenched in sweat after running drills during the team’s preseason tour in Seoul, South Korea.

The beginning of the new season has seen Tottenham beat Southampton 4-1 in the league opener after going behind early in the game. Not only was the win convincing, but winter signing Dejan Kulusevski picked up from where he left off as he scored and assisted during the game.

The win may be a sign of great things to come this season as the team seems like one that he is pleased with the necessary incomings and departures. With a challenging tie against his former employer Chelsea this weekend, a win will be a massive statement to other teams as Tottenham will seek a first win against the Blues since November 2018, when Conte was still in charge of Chelsea.

Chelsea did not participate in any European tournament when they lifted the league under Conte, but the situation is different for the Italian manager. Can he rise to the challenge considering his record in the Champions League is not encouraging? As Tottenham’s first full season under Conte commenced on a high, how far can the team go in all competitions they feature this season? Guess we wait and see.
