As per reports, Ajit Agarkar is expected to persuade Kohli to make way for the younger players, as the management feels that his style of play may not be appropriate for the West Indies’ slow wickets. In the T20I format, players like Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, and Shivam Dube are thought to be more valuable by the BCCI than Kohli.
When asked about Virat Kohli position in the T20 WC 2024 squad during the India vs. England series, BCCI did not say much, just a small statement. “We will discuss Virat’s role in due course,” Shah said.

Although BCCI is well known for supporting its top players. Some of the strange decisions made in the last several years have made supporters less trusting in the board. Indian cricket has benefited from the contributions made by Virat Kohli, and when others cast him or other young players in doubt, it appears to be political.
