Buttler Century Sees England Into Semi-Finals

A 67-ball century for Jos Buttler saw England get their fourth win in as many games of the Super 12s in Monday’s ICC T20 World Cup action.

England vs Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka would win the toss and elect to field first.

Jason Roy would be bowled by Wanindu Hasaranga for 9 before Dawid Malan would be bowled by Dushmantha Chameera for 6. Jonny Bairstow would be LBW to Hasaranga for a golden duck before Eoin Morgan would be the final man out, bowled by the same bowler, for 40 with Jos Buttler (pictured below, 101 off 67 balls) and Moeen Ali (1) the not out batsmen.

Pathum Nissanka would be run out by Buttler for 1 before Charith Asalanka would be caught by Ali off the bowling of Adil Rashid for 21. Kusal Perera would be caught by Morgan off the same bowler for 7 before Avishka Fernando would be LBW to Chris Jordan for 13.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa would be caught by Roy off the bowling of Chris Woakes for 26 before Hasaranga (pictured below) would be caught by sub fielder Sam Billings off the bowling of Liam Livingstone for 34 off 21 balls. Dasun Shanaka would be run out by Buttler for 26 before Chameera would be caught by Malan off the bowling of Jordan for 4. Chamika Karunaratne would be caught by Roy off the bowling of Ali without scoring before Maheesh Theekshana would be the final wicket to fall, caught by Jordan off the bowling of Ali, for 2 with Lahiru Kumara 1 not out.
