As the January Transfer window edges ever closer to deadline day, clubs are locked in negotiations to sign new players in a bid to strengthen their sides before the final football season hurdle.

Gabriel Paulista Set For Arsenal Move

Arsenal have agreed a fee with Villarreal for defender Gabriel Paulista and going on loan in the opposite direction is Joel Campbell. The fee is said to be between £11- 13million on the basis of a successful work permit and Villarreal will also pay Arsenal £700k for the loan of Campbell.

Chelsea Ordered To Match Buy Out Clause For Cuadrado

Chelsea have been told by Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella if they want to sign Juan Cuadrado this month they will have to pay £26.8 million. The Blues had an offer of £20million rejected and Fiorentina are adamant the Colombian International will not leave for anything less than his buy out clause.

Eto’o Completes Sampdoria Medical

Samuel Eto’o has passed a medical with Italian side Sampdoria, joining on a two and a half-year contract. Eto’o signed for Everton in the summer but had been limited to first team opportunities, mostly making appearances of the bench. The 33-year-old posted a picture on Twitter of him and wrote:”Successful medical. Ready for a new challenge!!!”

Pogba Will Stay With Juventus Until At Least The Summer

Paul Pogba’s agent has revealed his client will not be leaving the Turin during this transfer window. Pogba is being eyed by several big clubs in Europe and looks to be on the move in the summer. His agent Mino Raiola said:

“I am aware of the interest that there is around Paul, obviously, and without naming them, everybody that knows a little bit about football knows that there are only eight clubs that can afford him. That’s the eight clubs that will get into the scramble or the battle to have him.”

Ravel Morrison Agrees To Move Abroad With Lazio

Bad boy Ravel Morrison has agreed a deal in principle to trade England for Italy at the end of the season. Morrison’s current contract with West Ham expires at the end of the season having signed for the Hammers in 2012. Morrison was tipped to be a bright prospect for the future but troubles off the pitch has destabilised his career. Morrison has had loan spells with Birmingham, QPR and most recently Cardiff City but all decided against pursing the Manchester United graduate. 

Commons And Celtic Continue Discussions 

Kris Commons and Celtic remain locked in discussions over a contract extension. The 31-year-old is hoping for a two-year deal with wages said to be the stumbling block. Celtic are reluctant to part with one of their best players and Commons says he wants to stay with the Scottish Champions.

Fabian Delph Signs New Four And A Half Year Deal 

Aston Villa’s Fabian Delph has penned a new deal to keep him at Villa Park until the summer of 2019. The former Leeds midfielder has played 54 games in the Premier League, scoring five goals and was delighted to put pen to paper on a new four and a half-year contract. “I feel like this is me – I love the club, I love being here and I want to put 100% into everything I do here. “There was no way I was going to bail out. I am here for the long run”.
