Have we got the next Beckham? Let us hope he does better at Real Madrid. The young talent, Bellingham, has the composure and football knowledge for veterans of the game.
But he is not the only football talent in the family. His father has scored 700 career goals as a non-professional football, and his younger brother Jobe is currently at Sunderland.
CLUB
BIRIMINGHAM
Jude Bellingham joined Birmingham City at the under-8 level, becoming one of their biggest success stories.
He became the club’s youngest first-team player when he made his senior debut in August 2019 at the ripe old age of 16 years and 38 days.
The Stourbridge-born was a midfielder with loads of potential, and then was promoted to the first-team squad in the summer of his debut.
Jude Bellingham continued to be a regular in the 2019/2020 season until COVID-19. Making 32 league appearances and even being closed doors when the season resumed. He made a significant impact in essential games.
At the end of that season, he appeared in 41 matches and helped them avoid regulation. Then came the most significant honour, which has weighed over his career.
The club retired his number 22 shirt, which is not done in English sports. But is frequently done in basketball in the US. The club’s states were “ to remember one of our own and to inspire others ‘, that is, he was named for both championship apprentice of the year and the EFL young player of the season.
Jude Bellingham: Transfer to Germany

However, only some things were sailing smoothly. The BFB fined him 40,000 euros for referring towards the Zwayers in his part to the 2005 German Football match-fixing scandal by referring to “you give a referee, that has match fixed before, the biggest game in Germany. What do you expect?” and naked the german football association to do something about it.
He finished the 2021 season with 29 appearances, one goal in the Bundesliga, 46 appearances, and four in all competitions. He kept rolling in. Voted Newcomer of the Season by his fellow players and runner-up on the Kop Trophy. This continued beyond the following season.
His performance earned him the Bundesliga Player of the Season award. He won the Kopa Trophy in 2023 in recognition of his performance at Dortmund and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He became the first Englishman to receive the award. Like many young talents from Dortmund, they are sold to big teams for massive amounts of money and profit.
Transfer to Real Madrid
Bellingham’s transfer to Real Madrid for 103 euros marked the beginning of his growth with the Spanish team. He signed a six-year contract on June 14, 2023, setting the stage for future success.
There is a potential risk of 30% due to add-ons, equalling 133.9 million euros, but that is not all his sell-on clause earned Birmingham city £6 million.
REAL MADRID
With Beckham and Owen before him, he became the sixth Englishman to join Real Madrid. Some say the movie made perfect sense for both club and player with an actual “long-standing policy of recruiting the world’s best young players” and “proven willingness to give young players a chance to succeed at the highest level’ ‘.
Carlo Ancelotti, previous Chelsea, and Everton manager, compared Bellingham to the likes of Zidane, saying, “They are very similar, they have unbelievable quality, Zidane was excellent technically, Bellingham is incredible at arriving at the box.” Let us hope he will not inherit Zidane’s temper.
Bellingham’s first goal was a 25-metre screamer and was his club’s 300th goal in the EL Clasico, and he became the first England player to score in that future since Michael Owen in 2005. Ancelotti also said, “He seems like a veteran; the goal to level it changed the game…
Today he was stupendous and shocked everyone with his wonderful goal from the edge of the area.” when he scored his first goal for the club. He was named La Liga Player of the Month for October.
On 26 November, wearing heavy strapping, he assisted the first goal. He scored the third of a 3–0 win, which took Madrid to the top of the table and his total to 14 from his first 15 games, breaking the club record jointly held by Pruden, Alfredo Di Stéfano and Cristiano Ronaldo.
COUNTRY
The success continues beyond there. Although he is eligible for Ireland and England through his grandparents, he chose the latter. He worked his way up, making his under-15 debut against Turkey in December 2016, and in the 2017/18 season, he captained the team.
At 17 years and 136 days, he became England’s third youngest full international; only Theo Walcott and Wayne Rooney were younger on their full debut. He came on in the 82nd minute as a substitution in the group stages of Euro 2020 (in 2021) against Croatia.
They kept breaking the record books by becoming the youngest Englishman to play at any significant torrent and the youngest of any nationality to play at the Euro (however, this was broken six days later). However, his first England goal did not reach the next major tournament.
In the first game of the 2022 World Cup on 21 November 2022, he scored from a header, assisted by Luke Shaw, which opened the scoring. This made him the second-youngest scorer for England at the World Cup.
Conclusion
To say Bellingham is the future of football is not an overstatement; his ability to dribble, pass and shoot is impeccable at his age.
Fellow Three Lion recorder break Phil Foden has described him as “one of the most gifted players”, and Paul Scholes praises Bellingham: “I think Jude Bellingham for his age and what he’s accomplished so far in his short career, he’s better than anything we’ve seen”.
With all this pressure and cameras on him, he has yet to disappoint; dubbed the star boy, I wonder what is next for the 20-year-old.
