At the end of this season, Sergio Aguero will leave Manchester City. Having scored 181 Premier League goals since he arrived to the Premier League during the summer of 2011, the Argentinian player will have a range of options to continue his career.

Barcelona, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea or Leeds are possible destinies for a player who captivated Manchester City fans’ hearts when he scored at the 93th minute in the season 2011-2012 to gain the Premier League. This almost incomparable feat was more so due to the fact that their main rivals, Manchester United, were already celebrating the title when Aguero destroyed their hopes.

Having become the fourth top scorer in the history of the competition, and unless he decides to keep playing in an English team, he will surely be missed at the Premier League. And yet, there are rumours who point to his possible heir in the competition: Erling Haaland.

The wonderful striker seems to have decided to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, especially if the Germans fail to qualify for the next edition of the Champions League. Teams like Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool are waiting for the chance to sign the most promising striking in Europe.

The interest of Haaland to join the Premier League it does not seem as a huge surprise.

Two years ago, Alf-Inge Haaland, father of Erling and historical player of Nottingham Forest, Leeds and Manchester City, admitted that “one day, Erling wants to play in the Premier League“. Certainly, his arrival to the Premier League would be a boost to the competition, as he could become the next great striker of the competition, following the path of Sergio Aguero.

Where is the future of Kylian Mbappé?

Alongside Haaland, the French player of PSG is the greatest young figure of European football. Having scored two goals against Bayern Munich in the Champions League during an extraordinary football match, it should not be a surprise that the most important teams in the continent are following each step of Mbappé. Besides, he will end his contract with PSG in 2022, and apparently, he has decided not to extend it.

Some sources point to Real Madrid as his favorite place to go and develop further his career. And yet, the economic potential of the Premier League may not be overestimated. Perhaps the performances of PSG in the Champions League and of the French National Team during the Euro 2020 will be decisive for Mbappé to decide if it is better to keep playing in his country, or otherwise leave and try new adventures in other places.

Premier League: heading towards the end

Apart from the certain that Manchester City will win this year’s title, the race to qualify for the Champions League is being perhaps more exciting than ever. West Ham, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton are all in just 5 points.

And if West Ham beat Leicester and Tottenham to win against Manchester United, both teams of North England may be seen threatened their comfortable positions at the Premier League.

Currently, Leicester is in third place and Manchester United in second, but with 8 matches yet to be played, a defeat on these weekend games will prove concerning for them. Surely the last part of the Premier League will not be devoid of emotion.
