Futures record before Nottingham

Xu won a Futures event in March with Radka Zelníčková. She was a semi-finalist in women’s singles in Monastir the following week and in Glasgow last October.

Nottingham Futures – Women’s Singles

Xu beat Amarni Banks, Danielle Daley and Ankita Raina before her semi-final match against Heather Watson. Raina reached the quarter-finals of the Veneto Open and won against Xu in a Futures tournament in Ilkey last year, however, she lost to her 7-6 6-0 on Friday. Xu was then beaten by Watson in straight sets.

Nottingham Futures – Women’s Doubles

Xu and Katie Swan took part in the women’s doubles tournament. They defeated Tamira Paszek and Jacqueline Cabaj Awad in the round of 16 and Ena Koike and Sayaka Ishii in the quarter-finals. Xu and Swan overcame Sarah Beth Grey and Madeleine Brooks in the semi-finals, however they lost to Naiktha Bains and Amelia Rajeckti in the final.
