Misfits Boxing 22 is set for the AO Arena as three recognised UFC fighters take the main stage for the event.
Darren Till goes head-to-head with Luke Rockhold in the headliner in a Bridgerweight bout consisting of 10 scheduled rounds.
Tony Ferguson features in the co-main event, battling Salt Papi in a Welterweight bout of five rounds.
Here are the recent journeys the three MMA stars have taken.
Darren Till
After his UFC exit, it was always a mystery where Till would end up, as the Englishman has many years left in his Combat Sports career.
After suffering five defeats from six UFC fights, the Scouser turned to Boxing to keep his fans excited for the future.
The former UFC Welterweight title challenger was supposed to take on Tommy Fury on his Boxing debut at MF 20.
However, Fury pulled out due to Till’s threats of using elbows and kicks during the fight, as stated in the press conference.
Anthony Taylor replaced Tyson Fury’s younger brother in the headliner, as he himself is a former MMA fighter.
Till’s debut was a success as he defeated Taylor by TKO in round six, giving plenty of respect to the American for taking the fight.
‘The Gorilla’ continued to compete with Misfits, as he challenged Darren Stewart at MF 21 in Derby.
The 32-year-old was victorious again, winning by unanimous decision, and knocked down Stewart twice in the eight-round bout.
Luke Rockhold
Following his decision loss to Paulo Costa at UFC 278, Rockhold announced his retirement from the organisation.
The Santa Cruz-born fighter was not willing to stop his Combat Sports career, especially after signing with BKFC.
The former UFC Middleweight Champion took on the rising star of the promotion, Mike Perry, in a highly anticipated battle.
However, it would not end well for Rockhold, as he retired during the fight, losing by first-round TKO.
One year later, the Californian signed with Karate Combat and made his debut for the promotion.
Rockhold faced Joe Schilling in a Catchweight bout of 190 pounds in Dubai at Karate Combat 45.
The 40-year-old landed a vicious right hook, knocking out Schilling in the third round.
Over a year after that monumental moment, Rockhold made his Boxing debut against fellow UFC fighter Till.
Tony Ferguson
While Till and Rockhold parted ways with the UFC in 2022, Ferguson continued to fight, despite being on a five-fight losing streak by the end of the year.
MMA fans were hopeful that ‘El Cucuy’ would get his redemption, and the first chance came at UFC 291.
However, the former Interim UFC Lightweight Champion lost to King Green in the last dying seconds of round three, suffering a submission defeat.
Five months later, the unfortunate streak was extended to seven after losing by unanimous decision to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296.
At UFC Abu Dhabi, the streak went from seven to eight as Ferguson lost by first-round submission to Michael Chiesa.
Eventually, the Oxnard-born fighter parted ways with the UFC and signed with the Global Fight League (GFL).
The Ultimate Fighter 13 winner was supposed to take on Dillon Danis in May this year, but the first two GFL events were postponed indefinitely.
Once again, Ferguson has another opportunity to redeem his Combat Sports career as he takes on popular Misfits Boxing star, Salt Papi.
